What is therapeutic life coaching?

Therapeutic Life Coaching (TLC) is a fusion between the classical psychotherapy and life coaching. While classical psychotherapy may take years, the results of TLC are almost immediately evident, tangible, and measurable. Life Coaching, on the other hand, is a technique famed for its instant efficiency, but lacking the depth and long term value of psychotherapy. TLC has it all.

TLC is based on the same principles as you would expect from good psychotherapy:

1. Strict confidentiality

2. Non-judgmental attitude

3. Personalized treatment

TLC is goal oriented, solution based, built on the strength perspective, utilizes psycho-bio-social model and is flexible. The session can take place in my office as well as in your home, in the park or in the museum – whatever works for you.  We can even work over the phone.

CHILD CENTERED PROGRAM (CCP)

The CCP program utilizes the tools of play therapy and cognitive behavioral and psychodynamic theory to advance the level of communication between you and your child. Children, unlike adults, have limited tools of communicating their struggles to their parents. Their verbal abilities and emotional points-of-reference are restricted. Sometimes, understanding your child can be the hardest job in the world, especially when your child and you simultaneously are going through difficult times. Even common tasks like making friends or going to school can be very stressful for a child. The arrival of a new baby, moving, divorce or the remarriage of parents can leave a child feeling anxious and incapable to communicate their feelings.

The CCP techniques allow a categorically new path towards an understanding of your child that is unobtainable by any other means. Play is the language children can use to let us know what is bothering them. The perfect place for such a dialogue is your home, where your child feels the most comfortable. I will come to you and work with your child. For him/her it would be simply play time – non-invasive, comfortable and entertaining. After I spend time with your child, you will receive a verbal report on their progress. You may also choose to talk to me about ways you can help your child by addressing your own troubles.
